Henshalls are backing a group of young people destined for the next World Scout Jamboree.
The scouts from Newport Cluster of Unit 82 Shropshire Jamboree are appealing for donations to fund five places on the trip to West Virginia in North America in 2019.
And Henshalls Insurance Brokers, have pledged their support for the trip of a lifetime.
Director Mark Freeman said:
“We are delighted to be supporting the scouts in their efforts to fund their trip, and it’s great to see young people being given the opportunity to travel the world and enjoy new experiences.
“At Henshalls, we are always keen to support local people and local organisations, so we’re very pleased to be backing the scouts and helping them to reach their total.”
The World Scout Jamboree is held every four years and is the biggest gathering of young people in the world.
It’s a 12-day camping experience where young people from over 200 countries gather together to celebrate scouting, focus on global development, and to foster peace through respect and mutual understanding of each other’s cultures.
The size of the event also makes it the world’s largest United Nations peace conference.
Each participant will be fundraising in a variety of ways to make their personal contribution to the cost of the adventure and between the five Newport participants, they will need to raise over £15,000.
