Epic challenge awaits for Henshalls team
7th May 2015
Intrepid fund raisers from a Shropshire insurance broker are set to push themselves to the limit in a bid to raise cash for Severn Hospice.
The team will be led by Dave Williams, from Henshalls Insurance Brokers, in Newport and Shrewsbury, and they’re planning a challenge that will really test their fitness and endurance.
“We’ve called it the Henshalls Ben Nevis Challenge, and it consists of a trek up and down the famous mountain, followed by a 15-mile cycle ride around Fort William, a three kilometre canoe stint around Loch Lochy and another 10-mile cycle back to Fort William,” said Dave.
“It is a huge challenge and we’re hoping to raise £2,000 altogether for the Hospice, so we’re appealing to everyone we know to give generously and support us in our mammoth effort.”
Dave will be joined on the epic adventure by his son, Danny, and Henshalls colleagues Alex Brazendale and Ronnie Roberts.
The event will take place on June 20th, and the team has been training hard to ensure they’re ready for the conditions they’re likely to face.
“We chose Severn Hospice as our charity because we wanted to make a difference to an amazing cause,” said Dave.
“Every year at Henshalls we work hard to make a positive contribution to the community and to back local charities who support people in the local area.
“Severn Hospice is a charity that has provided help, support and comfort to many people who are close to all of us over the years, and it’s a great opportunity for us to push ourselves and to raise money that really will help.”
The Henshalls team has set up a Just Giving page for donations – www.justgiving.com/Henshalls-Insurance-Brokers and so far they’ve been inundated with pledges.
