Watch out! This Diva’s a networking star!
10th October 2014
I am actually in shock and a little bit lost for words .
And for those that know me well, you’ll know how rarely that happens!
Yes, I’ve done it again.
I’ve won another Bizmums Award!
After taking home two awards from last year’s conference for Exceptional Service Standards and the overall Mum of the Year trophy never in my wildest dreams did I think it was likely that I’d win again this year.
So when I was shortlisted in the Networking Mum of the Year category, I was just delighted to have been recognised to that degree, particularly when I saw the stiff competition I was up against.
Yet as I sat waiting for the results, I had a flash back to my very first networking event. My heart was pounding, my nerves were jangling, and my mouth was dry as they read out the nominees in turn.
And then there it was on the screen my name up in lights! Winner Jenny Osborne!
I received my award from Carie Lynden, of The Success Coach, who provides coaching in several areas of business, including networking itself.
In fact, Carie said I was a networking Diva! A woman of outstanding talent.
Wow. Just wow.
I can’t believe it and I’m honoured and proud that people I have grown to know as colleagues and friends have decided that my networking skills are tip top!
The Bizmums Conference was attended by 120 business women from all over the UK, with talks from inspirational speakers to motivate us.
And the event gave us all the chance to meet other Bizmums in person, many of whom I had only ever met online before. Fabulous to put faces to the Twitter names I’ve come to know so well!
It really was a wonderful day and winning these awards has given me even more drive and determination to believe in myself and push forward.
My aim now is to inspire other business ladies to join the networking revolution and find out for themselves just how incredibly rewarding the whole experience can be.
