No, not Jose Mourinho I’m not sure he’d be all that interested in insurance and I’m absolutely certain we couldn’t afford his wages!
But at Henshalls we are looking for someone who will play a very special role we’re on the hunt for an apprentice.
Last year we joined forces with Telford College of Arts and Technology and recruited two keen and capable apprentices who joined our administration team at our Newport office.
They are now happily settled into our team and in fact they’ve surpassed all our expectations so much so, that we’re looking to make it a hat-trick with another star player this year.
You might think you know all about the world of insurance: lots of paperwork, not very interesting, too many strict terms and conditions, with hours of fine print to work through.
And yes, there are lots of details to get right, but there’s nothing better than the feeling of securing a client’s peace of mind and helping them through a tricky situation to get the best possible result.
We have over 30 staff and handle around £9 million in insurance premiums, ranging from £20 travel policies to £250,000 commercial policies for our larger clients, and a network of over 5,000 clients.
See we’re not just a pretty face! We’re a dynamic company that’s continuing to grow, and we’re looking for apprentices that see a future with us. You’ll need good IT skills and a good standard of English and maths.
Our lucky chosen one will start by learning office administration routines including managing the post, scanning documents, electronic filing and franking.
And the aim is for you to move on to dealing with phone calls, banking, and assisting our trading team with client admin, as well as helping with data migration onto a new computer system.
You’ll be working towards an NVQ Level 2 in business administration, with on the job training with us running alongside your college course. And if your progress is good, we can help you take a structured approach towards eventually qualifying as a professional adviser.
Yes, it’s not a job for the faint hearted, as it’s vital that anyone we take on gets to grips with dotting the Is and crossing the Ts, but in return, we’ll give you an opportunity to learn about our industry that could set you up for a rewarding and stimulating career.
