And this week, as a birthday treat to myself (!), I joined fellow director Ant on just such a road trip in fact, they sent us to Coventry literally!
We spent the day at this year’s Broker Expo North event at The Ricoh Arena (after negotiating our way through the usual traumas of heavy traffic on the M6 during the rush hour of course!)
It may not sound that exciting to you, but the Expo is a big deal in our industry honest!
Over 700 insurance brokers from around the region attend, and it’s a great way to meet up with colleagues to discuss the latest happenings in the insurance world.
We always make the effort to catch up with other brokers and underwriters we’ve known for years, but we also aim to develop new relationships with companies and other suppliers.
This face-to-face networking is second-to-none when it comes to achieving real results, and putting ourselves out there brings real benefits for our clients.
And this year was no exception as we met a Lloyds of London syndicate who have agreed to work with us. This will enable us to target new markets for our motor trade and larger motor fleet clients, which is a great result for just one day out of the office.
So before you turn to those faceless comparison websites when it comes to searching out the very best insurance deal, remember nothing is as successful as the personal approach.
