You can go into the boardroom Mark will see you now!
Ok, ok so it doesn’t have quite the same ring to it as that other slightly more famous boardroom and that man with the shiny cufflinks.
But at Henshalls we are looking for an apprentice in fact we’re looking for two!
We’ve joined forces with Telford College of Arts and Technology to recruit two keen and capable apprentices who will join our administration team at our Newport office.
You might think you know all about the world of insurance: lots of paperwork, not very interesting, too many strict terms and conditions, with hours of fine print to work through.
And yes, there are lots of details to get right, but there’s nothing better than the feeling of securing a client’s peace of mind and helping them through a tricky situation to get the best possible result.
We have over 30 staff and handle around £9 million in insurance premiums, ranging from £20 travel policies to £250,000 commercial policies for our larger clients, and a network of over 5,000 clients.
See we’re not just a pretty face! We’re a dynamic company that’s continuing to grow: we’ve even just notched up our best ever trading year despite the country being in the middle of a recession.
So we’re looking for apprentices that see a future with us. You’ll need good IT skills and a good standard of English and maths.
Our lucky chosen two will start by learning office administration routines including managing the post, scanning documents, electronic filing and franking.
And the aim is for our apprentices to move on to dealing with phone calls, banking, and assisting our trading team with client admin, as well as helping with data migration onto a new computer system.
You’ll be working towards an NVQ Level 2 in business administration, with on the job training with us running alongside your college course. And if your progress is good, we can help you take a structured approach towards eventually qualifying as professional advisers.
Yes, it’s not a job for the faint hearted, as it’s vital that anyone we take on gets to grips with dotting the Is and crossing the Ts, but in return, we’ll give you an opportunity to learn about our industry that could set you up for a rewarding and stimulating career.
